Technical Bits

People, especially other “wannabe” wedding photographers are always asking me about the equipment we use, so I thought it might be of some interest to you guys out there.

We use Nikon cameras and have done since we started out in 1991. We use to use medium format equipment but since the dramatic rise in “digital photography” we use the Nikon flagship cameras and currently use the D3s. One of the reason we like about the d3 is that apart from the fantastic quality we get in lowlight with this camera is that it has two card slots in the back. This means that we can set up the camera to write a single picture taken to both of the cards. We select one card to store the RAWS (16GB) and the other to store the jpegs (8gb). When you buy a camera which cost around £3500 why trust one £80 compact flash card to store all your photographic eggs!
