The last wedding of 2010 arrived and as luck had it we were going to be working fairly local at the wonderful Rounday Mansion. A place that fell into disrepair many years ago but has had a massive revamp thast cost £millions and is run by the “Dine” group.
The place is immaculate throughout and the level of service demanded by Mike (the General Manager) is second to none. If fact the Bride and Groom have no affinity with Leeds or even Yorkshire, it was because that they fell in love with the venue and Mike’s vision of the Wedding Celebration that they actually booked there.
Paul and Krystina were the lovely couple who were getting married and we arrived nice and early, and we took some pictures of the “Krys” getting her make-up put on and the girly pictures of the bridemaids drinking the “champers”. After this we went down and photographed Paul and the guys looking “Mean and Macho” in the courtyard. Then I made my way back to Krys where by now she must have the dress on and looking resplendent. I knocked on the door and realised this wasnt the case, and I soon found out the reason. Her wedding dress was the “corseted” type and needed to be tightened up but because the cords were all tangled and threaded through the wrong holes this wasnt going to happen. With Krys now getting nervous by the minute and with only nine of those minutes left I asked her if she wanted me to “have a go”. In a flash she agreed and because its not the first time I ve had to put a girl in her wedding dress (perk of the job) and we managed to get her ready in time for her big day.

The whole wedding went like a dream apart from my assistant who managed to go flying into the mud, in front of the Bride and Groom which caused much hilarity to all those who were lucky enough to witnessed it.
We ran the slideshow of the days highlights at 8.00pm and received thunderous applause for which we are truly thankful for. Then we left with the celebrations in full swing but because it was New Years Eve we returned to photograph the wedding guests welcoming the New Year at midnight.
It was a brilliant day and a very enjoyable wedding, one that I was proud to be involved with.
So I have today off, well it is New Years Day ,but its back to work tomorrow for the first of our 2011 weddings.
