The weather on Saturday could be describes as “disappointing” as the grey clouds dumped continuous amounts of rain down from the heavens. Well I suppose it can be expected in February although I ve seen worse days in August. Luckily it wasnt that cold and nobodies spirits seemed “dampened” by the whole.
I arrived with my assistant (Justin) at the Brides home and true to form the house was a hive of activity with Bridesmaids and flowers girls busy racing around. Everyone was naturally excited by the forthcoming wedding and Jenny looked stunning in her wedding dress and the Bridesmaids complemented her perfectly. The Father of the Bride had a tear in his eye as he first saw his beautiful daughter in her dress for the first time but managed to keep his composure just enough to get through.
After we finished photographing the Bride and the maids we set off to see the Groom and the “Guys” at the church. We got there in time to ‘catch” one of the Ushers before he could escape to the local pub, so we quickly set up some pictures of Martin (Groom) and his entourage before anymore made a break for freedom!
Martin was relaxed and happy to do whatever was asked and even contributed by asking for certain pictures which was fine by us. Most of the pictures we took were “candids” although we did set up a couple of shots.
Jenny arrived on time and after the service at the church we all made a dash to the cars as the weather had got worse by this time. We got to Waterton Park Hotel first and got ready for the wedding photography. The ducks were blissfully unaware of the rain, although at this point the rain eased off just enough to get pictures of the B&G on the famous bridge.
Group shots were quickly held in the Libriary but we managed to get the Bridal party outside and they had a great time of it, as you can see here.
The evening finished off with the slideshow of all the days highlights shown on a giant screen to all the evening guests which was set to the couples favourite music, which I have to say went down really well, will lots of the guests remarking on it to the Bride and Groom.
Martin and Jenny were fantastic on the day and without their cooperation we could not have got the pictures we wanted, so well done you two.
The happy couple at now on Honeymoon and part of their itinerary includes a couple of days in Las Vegas which by sheer coincidence is where we will be at the same time. So we have planned to meet up and take some pictures there too. Not many wedding photographers can say that they been invited to the Honeymoon can they!
