Waterton Wedding

Last Friday we were delighted to be shooting the wedding of Graham and Gaynor at the picturesque Waterton Park Hotel situated just outside Wakefield in a small village called Walton. The beauty of this little “gem” is that its hidden away in the countryside and surrounded by a large lake, combined with the stunning views it makes the perfect venue for any wedding.

The day was perfect for Gaynor and Graham, and we had such a great time with the “happy couple”. The weather behaved itself too, which was a  bonus as the British Summer seems to be non existent this year.

We shot photographs throughout the day and we persuaded Graham and Gaynor to go out once dusk had descended, which was worth it to capture this image I shot below. After our ten minutes outside we went back inside to photograph the “First Dance” and that was that.

A big “Thanks” to Graham and Gaynor for cooperating on there big day, which makes a massive difference to the overall photography.

A great Day with some great people

The weather forecast looked “grim” as I watched the forecast on Tv the night before the wedding. The wedding was at Waterton Park Hotel near Wakefield which was great because if we had to take photographs inside due to inclement weather, I knew it would be fine. The service however was at St Peters in Felkirk which might have been a problem for  Louise (the bride) as getting from the car to the church might have been a problem.

Anyhow I arrived at the Brides house and all the Bridesmaids were ready and really excited about the forth coming festivities, as was Louise. I took some great pictures of the Bride and “maids” having first shown them how to stand and position themselves, so they looked great on the pictures.

I arrived to photograph Callum (the Groom) 45 minutes before the wedding, and shot some great pictures of him and his ushers in a corn field next to the church. The rain had held and and threatened but relented just enough for the bride to enter the Church along with David her brother who was standing in for there Father who was sadly too ill to attend.

The weather was a constant distraction but held off till we shot the family groups at Waterton Park Hotel. Surprisingly it stopped after 10 minutes and we got all the pictures we wanted. After the wedding breakfast we went out to do some more wedding photography.

Which was where Callum got a little bit adventurous by trying to “pick up” his new wife. Oh dear…

I had such a great time

Just a Great Wedding Day

Siobhán and Tom were married at St Chads Church in Leeds on a glorious day in July. A great church but sadly the vicar decided to limit the number of photographs allowed to be taken  in the Church, so we could not get some key pictures, like the first kiss and the exchanging of the wedding rings which was such a shame. We never use “flash” in Church and we are very discreet because we know that the service is so important   Its important to know how you feel about this before you choose you the place you wish to marry. Anyhow I managed to sneak a few pictures in, without the Vicar noticing.

The day was great for a wedding but a little bit tricky for a wedding photographer. Leeds was bathe in very bright sunlight which cause harsh shadows and people tend to squint, but we got over these minor obstacles and produce a great selection of wedding pictures. We had so much fun and the same day slideshow presentation which we who just before the first dance when down a storm.

A big thank you for the guests for putting up with me and a massive ‘Thanks” to Tom and Siobhán who made my job so easy on the day.

A sneaky peak of some of the images we took at the wedding
